Excited about Volunteering with People Against Rape?
Attend our volunteer training!
Our volunteers offer support, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to sexual assault victims during sexual assault forensic exams, and receive calls from the 24-hour PAR Hotline for crisis intervention, information, and referrals.
Volunteers commit to 24 hours per month for a nine-month commitment upon completion of training.
On-Call shifts are split into 6 and 12 hour shifts.
Volunteers may cover their shifts from any location as long as they are reachable by phone and are able to respond to MUSC’s Emergency Department within 30 minutes.
Must be able to drive and provide own transportation in order to respond quickly (within 30 minutes) to calls for victim accompaniment at hospitals.
PAR’s next training will be held on May 29 - June 1
Thursday, May 29: 6pm – 9pm
Friday, May 30: 6pm – 9pm
Saturday, May 31: 9am – 5pm
Sunday, June 1: 9am – 5pm
Please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a volunteer application packet. Please return your application to PAR by May 21, 2014.
We will contact you shortly after to set up an interview with PAR and invite you to our training!
